[edit] Installation

• The assumption is you will be using a 3rd generation S60 phone, such as N93 or N95.
• Prerequisites:
  • Install ActivePerl. The SDK requires exactly version 5.6.1 (not newer and not older).
  • Install Java2 Runtime Environment

• Download the Symbian SDK from NewLC: New S60 3rd Edition FP1 / Symbian OS 9.2 SDK
  • Make sure to read the installation notes and follow the additional requirements in them
  • You need to have admin privileges to install the SDK
  • Do not install the SDK anywhere with spaces in the path. We recommend putting it into C:\Symbian

• Install CSL Toolchain (GCCE)
  • This will be available as one of the menu options after you install the SDK
  • Manually modify the PATH environment variable to include GCCE location
  • By default the gcc compiler is installed to C:\Program Files\CSL Arm Toolchain\bin
